Chinese Immersion + Theatre Fun
Summer Camp at GIS
A joyful, supportive summer experience that builds real-world Chinese communication
—while students collaborate toward a grand-finale theatre performance.
All Chinese levels are welcome.
Ages: 5–13 (K–8th grade). As long as your child reaches 5 years old by Summer 2026, they are welcome to apply!
Chinese Level: All levels are welcome. From beginners to heritage speakers, our classroom helps everyone grow at their own pace
Time: July 6th - July 31st, Monday thru Friday, 9am - 4pm

Our teaching:
Our lead teachers conduct classes primarily in Chinese. To ensure optimal growth for students at every level, we implement:

Multimodal instruction: Every language concept is presented with audio, visual, and contextual support so everybody can follow easily.

Personalized learning goals: For example, some students focus on pronunciation and character recognition, while others work more on character recognition and writing.

“Big brother / big sister” TA model: Groups are paired with carefully selected high school teaching assistants who are fluent in Chinese for individualized attention. TAs are hired from local high schools, interviewed and trained by dedicated staff to ensure responsible and qualified teenagers in these roles.

Cancelation Policy:
Free cancelation before Apr. 6th for a full refund.
50% refund for cancelation between Apr. 7th and June. 7th.
0% refund for cancelation after June. 7th.
The $40 reservation fee (per child) is non-refundable. Please submit cancellation requests in writing to cici.worldplus@gmail.com
Partial enrollment option:
We accept partial enrollment by the week. On the registration form, you’ll be able to select “partial enroll” and check your weeks.
However, we strongly encourage enrolling for at least two consecutive weeks (E.g. July 6-17; July 20-31) in order to participate in the mid-term and/or final performances. For maximal growth and language immersion, sign up for all four weeks! If you plan to travel for just a few days during a week, we will pro-rate the tuition for that week.
Financial Aid Info:
We are deeply committed to making our camp accessible to families from all financial backgrounds. To make this possible, we set aside a portion of our tuition revenue to create a dedicated financial aid fund for families in need (determined based on the Oregon Department of Education free & reduced lunch application).

The availability of this fund depends on overall enrollment. We must reach a threshold of 64 enrolled students to sustainably activate the aid program.

Once we hit this goal, qualified families will be able to receive a reduced price of $200 per week.
